Creative Children’s Center Summer Camp

The first 70 degree days have come to Oregon, signaling the coming of summer. Sure, our brains know there will be more 55 degree rain before summer comes to stay, but our hearts and minds are already well-entrenched in the sights, sounds, and scents of the gloriously mild sunny summer days that we love so well in the Pacific Northwest. Summer means unbeatable weather in Oregon, but it also means the end of school. Some area children may be singing “no more pencils, no more books…”, but at CCC, the end of our daily explorations with good friends is bittersweet. The bar has been set awfully high; WHAT are we going to do with these motivated little learners for 3 months at home?

The answer? Send ‘em back for more! CCC has a fantastic lineup of fun and challenging summer offerings for Summer 2012. Your kids can’t get enough of the amazing staff and creative projects- how about your neighbor’s kids? Show off our wonderful campus and help them understand what you’ve been raving about! Do your kids have friends from other activities that they love to hang out with but don’t get to see enough of? What better than a weeklong playdate that’s NOT in your backyard! It shouldn’t be hard to convince their parents either. CCC’s programs are designed to engage participants, building academic skills without the kids even suspecting! Early Learners will participate in writing, singing, acting, moving, inventing, sculpting, building, painting, drawing and designing. The elementary programs interweave skill development (writing, reading, mathematical thinking, science, public speaking) as well as studio arts exploration each week.

Summer Splash 2010 was our family’s first introduction to CCC, and our camper can’t wait to go back for more! We snuggled up with the Summer Offering guide the day it came out, looking at all the great opportunities for summer fun. The verdict? Summer Splash (Part Deux). Anya said “Splash Camp is the very best one EVER because you get to wear your bathing suit and flip flops to school.” In addition to the special footwear concessions, and obvious things like unparalleled learning and discovery experiences (!), there are other advantages to the CCC 
summer programs- like making friends! A shared experience at summer camp made the transition to school an easy one, with familiar faces among the staff and students alike. Anya met her good buddy Andruw, a fellow High 5er, at camp before the school year began, and looking back at photos, we noted that JJ (Rainbow Rascals), literally covered head to toe in paint, helped paint her swimsuit-clad body! These are the kind of special bonding experiences that you can’t find just anywhere!

From Summer Splash, to Dinosaur Days, and Super Duper Science, there is sure to be something to keep your pint-sized explorer engaged. Revisit a favorite session from last year or try something new- this wide array of offerings makes it hard to go wrong. Can’t decide? Choose them all for a discounted price. Challenge your child to build skills and have a blast at one of this year’s incredible summer experiences. These memories will last a life time!
