Founded in 1990, Creative Children's Center provides quality community education for children and families. During the school year CCC offers classes for toddlers through kindergarten. In addition we provide school enrichment classes and summer creativity camps through the age of ten. As a cooperative school parents have many opportunities join in, enriching the children
experiences as well as there own.
Our school is centrally located between Beaverton and Hillsboro, Oregon. Once a former farmhouse, CCC has retained its unique rural feel, with three dynamic classrooms and a large outdoor play space. Our environments are known for their beauty and enriching designs. The classrooms invite “hands on” learning, while outside, nature calls! Physical exercise, and discovery abound with lots of room to run, ride bikes, dig in the sandbox, or explore the gardens. CCC students have been instrumental in designing and creating our school spaces with great enthusiasm and joy!
At Creative Children’s Center, school is all about possibilities. Instead of “how best to teach,” our approach proposes “how best to learn.” We’re grounded in the belief that all children are competent, inspired learners. The idea is simple — place trust in their born abilities, provide resources and adult support, and children will thrive.
We believe that people construct knowledge, by actively engaging in creative learning experiences that strengthen both personal, and social understanding. Our constructivist philosophy is supported by brain research and adopted throughout the world. Academics, the arts, sciences, literacy, and mathematics are taught in fun and innovative ways. Students of all ages feel appreciated as they use their emergent skills to share and connect “big ideas”.
At CCC, numbers and letters, stories and songs, paint and clay, wire and wood, are communication tools with which children share their interests. Parents are partners in the running and management of the school. The children benefit from having “grown-ups” around sharing in the memories, contributing ideas, and enriching our days. Adults develop positive parenting strategies for home and beyond.
